Nice scriptural perspective but not enough positive reinforcement. To really overcome you need to learn root and environmental causes. Of you dig and delve you will find your answers. I did more research through google and I was able to reach more quality information. But what do you expect from a booklet. this is is not one of those books where you are so glad you bought it and where you plan to refer back to it when u get symptoms.
Don't let the 60 pages fool you. This book packs a powerhouse supply of information, inspiration, and real hope. We've almost despaired of finding help for our 24-yr-old BPD daughter, even though we've read dozens of books by experts. Just like we should have remembered, all the help we really need is found in the appropriate application of scripture. We don't mean simply slapping a Bible verse onto every problem, but rather a careful study of the Word followed by rigorous and thorough application to our daughter's personality disorder. We are better equipped to offer her real solutions for lasting change now. Actually, the proper application of the words of this book would help any Christian with or without BPD.
Wonderful, helpful info-really gets to the heart of the matter! I just wish there was an updated version. It seems like info about BPD is improving-but this book is still relevant for me. Everyone needs to know that Jesus came to set us free. If we follow Him we will still have troubles until we're with Him. But He's promised to give us His peace in our hearts and will always be with us. One day all illness-mental and otherwise-Will be banished for all His followers!
I think this booklet was excellent!!It was so helpful to recognize the reasons behind the feelings and actions.I really liked the Biblical passages they helped me grow.I would like to commend the author as she has really been a great helper to borderline people or as I say the unbalanced.
I would have given the author and book 5 stars, but the kindle version of the book does not provide full pages on some pages. These may have been important pages that I missed.Ms. Wiseman came through to show anyone who has faith in Scriptural truth, and who is a faithful student of the Scriptures, to see how the Bible explains clearly what doctors have yet to understand. Her experiences are shared and shows comparisons easily understood. I would like Kindle to send me the full pages of those missing.
This little booklet makes sense to me. Scripture is common sense and usually somewhat intuitive in today's world, but I couldn't have continued to make progress and grow in understanding this disorder without the mental health community and literature! Faith and reason are equivalent to me, walking hand in hand; but personally I was finding over and over again that Scripture was effecting me -- or I was (and still do) react to Scripture -- in a "guilty, I'll never live up to that, I'm not good enough" way; whereas, psychological descriptions of this disorder and the more specific recommendations they offer gave me a bit of confidence, that "Yes, I can work with this by reading about and learning new skills." So, it's a good part-time edition to my collection on the subject.
I have read a lot on Borderline Personality Disorder because my son literally had a nervous breakdown after 13 years of marriage to a woman with this disorder. I like this little book because it is simple, straight forward and very accurate in describing borderlinebehaviour and actions. It doesnt give exstensive advice but focuses on the one thing that is most effective in treating a borderline--long term commitment by 3 or 4 people who will learn what to do to help the borderline find their way out of the prison of pain, rage, hate, and fear they cannot escape on their own. Borderlines take a lot out of a person so it is brilliant to have a team of people who can work together to ensure that the borderline has the attention and love they need so desparately to combat their feelings of lonliness and distrust. A team can share the responsibility so that no one person gets overwhelmed by the demands on their time/patience/emotions. As a Christian I am glad that the need for Godly love, prayer, scriptural guidance and patience are included in this book as the most vital aids to the recovery of a borderline.
